Har sentence mein do main parts hote hain: Subject aur Predicate.
- Subject sentence ka wo part hota hai jo sentence ke main person ya thing ke baare mein batata hai.
- Predicate wo part hota hai jo subject ke baare mein kuch kehta hai ya action ko describe karta hai.
- Subject sentence ka wo part hota hai jo sentence ke main person ya thing ke baare mein batata hai.
- Predicate wo part hota hai jo subject ke baare mein kuch kehta hai ya action ko describe karta hai.
Examples:
- The dog barks. (Kutta bhonkta hai)
Subject: "The dog" (yahaan "dog" wo person/thing hai jo action kar raha hai).
Predicate: "barks" (yahaan predicate hai jo dog ke action ko describe kar raha hai).
Types of Sentences: Declarative, Interrogative, Imperative, Exclamatory
1. Declarative Sentences (Statements):
Ye sentences simply koi information dete hain ya statement banate hain.
Example:
- The sky is blue. (Asmaan neela hai)
2. Interrogative Sentences (Questions):
Ye sentences kisi question ko puchte hain aur generally who, what, when, where, why, how jese question words use karte hain.
Example:
- Where are you going? (Aap kahan ja rahe ho?)
3. Imperative Sentences (Commands/Requests):
Ye sentences koi command, request ya advice dete hain.
Example:
- Please close the door.(Please door band kar dijiye)
4. Exclamatory Sentences (Strong Feelings):
Ye sentences strong emotions ya surprise dikhate hain aur generally exclamation mark (!) se end hote hain.
Example:
- Wow, what a beautiful place! (Wow, Kitni acchi jagah hai!
Simple, Compound, aur Complex Sentences: Conjunctions aur Clauses ka Effective Use
1. Simple Sentences:
Simple sentences mein sirf ek independent clause hota hai, jisme ek complete thought hota hai.
Example:
- She dances well. (Wo accha dance krti hai.)
Yahaan bas ek single idea hai jo completely express ho raha hai ki Wo accha dance krti hai.
2. Compound Sentences:
Compound sentences mein do ya zyada independent clauses hote hain jo conjunctions (jaise and, but, or) se connected hote hain.
Example:
- She dances well, and he plays the guitar. (Wo accha dance krti hai aur woh guitar play krta hai)
Yahaan "She dances well" aur "he plays the guitar" do alag-alag independent thoughts hain jo "and" se jode gaye hain.
3. Complex Sentences:
Complex sentences mein ek independent clause aur ek dependent clause hota hai. Dependent clause complete thought nahi hota aur independent clause ke bina akela nahi reh sakta.
Example:
- Although it was raining, we decided to go outside. (Ba wajood iske ke baarish ho rahi thi hamne bahar jaane ka faisla kiya)
Yahaan "Although it was raining" dependent clause hai jo apne aap mein complete thought nahi hai. "We decided to go outside" independent clause hai jo is sentence ko complete karta hai.
